Mental Health Court is designed to support eligible individuals whose justice involvement is connected to mental illness, developmental disability, or co-occurring mental health and substance use needs.

The program provides an alternative to jail or prison when appropriate by connecting participants with treatment, accountability, supervision, and support. Participants work with the court team and treatment providers to address mental health needs, increase stability, and reduce future justice involvement.

Mental Health Court recognizes that recovery and stability take time, structure, and support. The goal is to help participants build safer, healthier lives while addressing the needs that contributed to their justice involvement.
